A battle between drivers puts top manufacturers on the podium

Just like Pine Lake, the Park Rapids event turned into a tightly contested race with all four manufacturers winning classes. The Pro final was the highlight of the weekend with the Arctic Cats of #15 Wesley Selby and #312 Zach Herfindahl mixing it up with #52 Re Wadena, running for factory Yamaha. For the first five laps, the trio ran bumper to bumper with constant lead changes. The Polaris #537 Ryan Faust and the SkiDoo #311 Ross Erdman were in hot pursuit and kept the pressure on the leaders. Ultimately, it was Selby who took home his first ever, Pro final win.

ParkRapids overhead300x200Cold temperatures, along with hard, rough ice and wind made this a true cross country event. The course was a 10.6 mile lemans-style track with enough turns to turn arms into rubber bands!

USXC has went to a heads up start for Pro and Semi-Pro finals. This is making for some truly exciting racing for the spectators and racers alike!

The Polaris camp has a new rising star, #4J Jill Tangen. Jill is dominating on the ice events plus running very competitively against the men in the Sport class. #73 Jodie Black (Arctic Cat) kept the TRF company in the hunt. Another up and coming star for Polaris is #14 Taylor Bunke, the son of Gabe Bunke, who has been Polaris’ top gun for many years and the grandson of Gerry Bunke from the fabled Mid Night Blue express era. Taylor won his first USXC event with a win in Semi-Pro improved.

The Semi-Pro final was a Cat fight right from the start, with #62 Lance Efteland (Arctic Cat) #525 Dylan Stevens (Arctic Cat), along with the fast Polaris driver of #154 Alex Hetteen, fighting for the lead and changing positions right up to the checkered flag.
The ever present and fast SkiDoo of #44 Jim Sobeck easily won Masters 50 again.
